About Us

The Eaton County Democratic Party is committed to working with residents and leaders in our county, Lansing and Washington to protect our families, educate our children, preserve our environment and build better lives for all of us.

You may be surprised by all that we do in our community. We organize educational forums on current issues, provide volunteers for community projects, staff the Democratic Party booth at the Eaton County Fair, walk in parades with candidates, and plan fun events (a chili cook-off, golf outing, annual dinner, etc). Beginning this year we are also going to raise money for our many Democratic candidates for office (see ECDEC below). Working together is how we can accomplish our goals and make Eaton County a great place to live and work.

We would like to keep you informed of events and activities that the Party is involved with as well as up to date with the issues facing Eaton County. Please check this website periodically, and if you would like to receive our weekly email updates, contact us at ecdemp@gmail.com.

You are also welcome to “check us out” at our monthly meetings. This year they are being held the second Thursday of each month at the Log Jam restaurant in Grand Ledge. (Check the calendar on Schedule of Events for any changes.) The meetings start at 6:30 p.m. with a brief presentation of a current issue. Come early and grab a bite to eat or a beverage to sip during the meeting.

You can help in a number of ways, but if your time is especially limited, you may still contribute to our goals by donating to our Political Party Committee. It is registered with the State of Michigan to accept donations for political candidates. We will gladly accept donations from bitsy to big!

The official title of our committee is Eaton County Democratic Executive Committee, but because that’s a rather long moniker to write on a check, the bank has shortened it for us to “ECDEC". Checks payable to ECDEC may be mailed to
